Plans for a homemade ball mill?
I want to make a tin cup, to polish the cargo decks. I looked online, and every glass case seem over-price, given that it is basically an electric motor with a bucket on top. The ball mills seem a little too high ... I do one of these at home? I have an electric motor of an old microwave, making it the most expensive. Anyone know of plans to build a glass case / ball mill, or have a personal experience?
In general you can buy a tin cup used pretty cheap. I have a Lyman Turbo for $ 3200 20 used in a garage sale. If you do not mind waiting and shopping, there are options for the house built. Tumblers and ball mills are very simple, not much for them. The vessel is basically a container on top of a base with an unbalanced engine inside. The ball mill is simply a container full of items to be crushed / polished and the agglomeration / Polishing media. This container is rotated with a belt-driven motor. You can do better with a bigger engine. If you want to belt-driven as the ball mill from United Nuclear, I suggest grabbing a vacuum on the curb on garbage. Canister vacuum cleaners are often dismissed because there is a short section of obstructing the pipe between the beater bar and hose wand. 95% + still have good engines, do not ask how I know. 
Also the have high RPM motor and will turn your glass easier. An old corded drill also seems a good option too. Either way, you may want consider going to cruise on the day of trash in your neighborhood.
