Asbestos found in my rental home in Newport News Virginia. The owner did not disclose what can I do?
I moved to a house in September which is an old colonial-style home and recently learned that there is asbestos in the lead-based paint and I'm sure (because there are multiple layers and some that are much older) I am more concerned about the asbestos personally. Asbestos is not sealed inside our house and we have drilled into it not knowing it was asbestos and is deteriorating from what I know is in the air. Our other shower was broken a month ago and told us that the owner and has not been settled yet, so we only have this bathroom to use! I've also read that smoking in all this is very dangerous and harmful as OSHA strictly prohibited and such and our roommate smoke cigarettes and have a water pipe. I am a little worried. What are my rights here? The owner did not disclose the asbestos and had not signed the disclosure that are required by law. Has anyone had anything similar happen?
Disclosures in VA are to mold and lead paint, no asbestos. Moreover, these require a certain number of units that may apply. If asbestos is such that we must drill to expose it, is a very low risk, simply leave it alone. OSHA does not ban asbestos existing only needs to be managed. You did not mention how you know it is asbestos and lead paint. No laboratory tests are only conjectures. Many layers, usually no indication of lead paint. You could have each test by a local laboratory to confirm. You can worry about anything.

Drill bits, the most important part of any drill machine is used to bore cylindrical holes in different materials like metal, wood, plastics, etc. As per your requirement you can make the choice of drill bits. But while sharpening the twist bits special care should be taken as titanium nitride coating can be destroyed. By forming a correct angle at the tip while drilling you can extend the life of your bits.
